Another great day of kayaking in Mackay Creek! {Hilton Head Island, SC}

I couldn’t have asked for a better day out there in Mackay Creek. I dropped in at high tide, paddled up the creek for a few hours and rode the ebbing tide back out. The highlight of my trip came when a rather large shark attacked a Jack Crevalle about 50 yards from me. Water was splashing everywhere and the shark was thrashing like crazy! I raced to the scene to find a lot of blood in the water and half a fish floating at the surface. The Jack (before the attack), was approx 36inches and I’d estimate it weighed 30lbs. I did take photos of the aftermath, but won’t post those here. Unless y’all really want to see them:) Anyway, beside a few passing dolphins and birds, it was a pretty chill trip out there.
